Info and training - talent is overrated

"Oh you are so talented,..." nice comment but when I hear this statement it negates all of the hard work I have put into learning about my art, and I am still studying and learning.

Give yourself an opportunity to work as an artist, invest in yourself, take the time to study something with an unimaginable focus.  You need to study the figure and sculpture for 6-10 years to learn the figure or as Malcolm Gladwell writes in his book the "Outliers: The Story of Success," you need to practice for at least 10,000 hours to make something meaningful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUVgXjsLKj8

And NO it is no easy spending 6- 10 years studying art, there are all sorts of excuses you can tell yourself of why this will not work, and there will be people around you reminding you that you might fail and this may not work.

Push forward, make the hours count, and do not just punch the clock.

I suggest you try to find John Singer Sargent's schedule while he studied, its insane how many hours he studied each day, day after day.
